After Hours of searching for that tutorial on
how to make those nifty strips everyone uses
for making websets
Countless Unanswered emails to those who had them in
their websets and asking "How'd you do that?"
I got the size demensions from one of those Nifty
Strips and got to experimenting with filters
Now I can't say these are the best ones out there
but I think they look nice
So here are my nifty strips

You will need:

Jasc PSP download your trial version here.
FunHouse filters 1 and 2 download here.
Gradients Here a few you can get at Nansons
she has some wonderful ones
FM Tile Tools you can download here.

1. You will need to open a new image size 20 x 196 transparent.
Then set your Styles Background to a gradient of your choice.
Some gradients don't look as nice but experiment with them
I am using L-M Blue Nile.
Set your Gradient to these settings below:

2. Flood Fill your image with your gradient.
Now go to Effects/ Funhouse/Twister
Set the Twistensity to 147.

your strip will look like this:
I found that gradients like gold and silver and this one
Look the nicest.

Now Apply Effects/Fm Tile Tool/Seamless Tile and click ok.

Now you have a seamless strip.

Another Technique I learned by testing a tutorial from a fellow
Member of FBN.
You can do her Tutorial Here.
That is where I learned how to make these wonderful ribbons

Another Technique is to make these satin like ribbons
No plugins or filters for this one except your Fm Tile Tools

It should look like this:

Step 2. Click on your Flood Fill Tool and set
to these settings:

Now Flood Fill your image.
Go to Effects Blur/Gaussian Blur
and use these settings

4. Now go to Layers/Merge All.
Go to Image/Resize and reduce your Image 50%
Make sure your resize all layers is unchecked.
Now apply your Fm Tile Tools/Seamless tile
and you Voila you have a satiny finish to your strip
