Gina's and Jari's Pretty Posies

I wanted to mention a special Dedication to Gina
From Gina's Home for the inspiration her EZ-Posies
Gave me to do this tutorial! I have put her name
as well as mine on this Tutorial because it was her Tutorial that
caused me to make mine. So I hope you don't mind! Hugs
Gina
Also to Patti from Moon Designs~Thank you for
your help and encouragement to write
more..*grins*

What you will be using in this Tutorial:

Jasc PSP 7.04 (or if you have a later version I think it should work out fine) you can download your trial version here
You will need to complete steps 1 through step 5 at Gina's Home
with her EZ-Posie Tutorial.

Once you have started your pretty posie then you come here and complete your
flower here:

Step 1: you should have something like this to start this tutorial:

Step 2: Take your draw tool and draw lines on your flower like so:
notice your draw tool is set to freehand line, width=1 antialias checked.
You can also draw little lines from the center just out past the darker pink color
I used color#6E4146 and then smudged and blended in step 5.

Step 3: Next you are going to take your eraser tool and make this flower look hideous
but we will fix it after that..LOL
You will take your eraser and and along the black lines you just drew erase it..below
is an illustration of what I mean:

Step 4: Now you are going to rotate your flower: duplicate your flower and then go
to Image/Rotate and use these settings: your flower will look like this: Its okay it will turn out pretty when your done.

now merge/merge visible.
Now might be a good time to save. Just in case PSP decides to shut down on ya>>

Step 5: now we are going to take your smudge tool and smudge around the sides and make your flower pretty. Using the Settings below take your smudge tool and smudge
around the edges of the flower where the black lines still show. It should look like this or something similar...be creative. I don't mind..*grins* just soften and blend the edges and even the middle like I did with this example..

This is how mine turned out:

Now if you want to have leaves for your flower they are easy to make:

before you finish your flower add a raster layer and then go to your shapes tool
use your ellipse shape. make sure your foregroud is null on your styles palette and
your background is set to color#394736. Now make an ellipse, use your node tool
to give your leaf a shape like so:

then click on your node tool options and you will have your leaf on your image. convert to raster layer.
now add another layer and take your draw tool freehand line, width=1 foreground
set to black, background null. Draw a line down the middle and lines along the sides
to make vains for the leaf. you should have something like this. once you have done that you go to Effects/Blur/Gaussian Blur at these settings:

Now you have your leaf. Take your leaf and put in next to your flower and then go
to your layers palette and move your leaf under the flower layer. duplicate/mirror and you will have your leaf duplicated on the other side and Voila you have a pretty flower and leaves. Merge/merge visible and tube your flower. If you want different colors like what I have in this vase picture. Go to Color/Colorize on the flower layer only and play with the settings..go to File/Export/Picture Tube and name your tube.

I created this picture for the flowers:
