My selections and pattern fillsFall Acorn Zip

EC3 Jiggle. You can use EC4000 and adjust the settings. You can download a trial version here

When you have your supplies go ahead and begin:

::Step One::

Open a new transparent image 350 X 350. Layers->A new raster layer and name it acorn bottom. Selections->Load from Disk acornbottom.sel.
Open your pattern fill. Click on your foreground pallet and then patterns and locate the fallacorntile1.jpg. Flood fill the selected area. Keep Selected.
Selections->Float Selections->Invert. Apply the following Drop shadow. Then Deselect.

::Step Two::

Layers->A new raster layer and name it acorn top. Selections->Load from Disk acorntop.sel. Change your foreground color to #FB8B1D. Flood fill the selected area. Keep selected. Selections->Float and Selections->Invert. Apply the same drop shadow as you did before. Deselect.

Your acorn will look like this now:

::Step Three:: Now first click on your acorn bottom layer on your layer pallet. Then go to Image->Resize and click on Percentage of Original and change it to 80 and check smart size. Make sure that resize all layers is NOT checked. Resize once. Then do the same to your acorn top layer only your Percentage will be 95. Resize this layer twice.
Wit your mover tool move the bottom acorn layer up a bit so your image looks similar to this below:

Now you are ready to work on the leaves. Add a new layer and call it leaf 1. Selections->Load from disk leaf1.sel. Your foreground color will still be #FB8B1D.
Flood fill the selected color and keep selected. Now we will be giving the leaf some color and depth. Change your foreground color to #704849 your background will be Null.
Click on your draw tool to these settings below:

Start at the top of the leaf and draw down the center of the leaf to the bottom of the leaf. This is what it will look like.

Now we are going to change the line type to Bezier Curve but leave the rest the same. Draw a small lines along each side of the long line like so:

With Bezier Curve lines you will have a node on each end. Click on the right node and pull down slightly and then the left node do the same
It will have a curve to it like the image below:

Now with your retouch tool we are going to darken and lighten inside the leaf. Your darken RGB and Lighten RGB settings are below:
Now use your creativity on your shading so your leaf won't look exactly like mine but this is what mine looked like:

Keep your leaf selected. Apply the EC3 Jiggle with these settings:

Now Deselect. Layer->Duplicate and then Image Resize to 80. Make sure resize all Layers is not Checked. Image->Rotate with these settings.

::Step Four::

Okay now the acorn stump. Add a new layer and name it acornstump. Selections->load from disk acornstub.sel. Change your foreground color to #7CAE7C.
Selections->Float Effects->3D Effects Cutout with these settings. The shadow color will be #436B43 and the fill Color will be #7CAE7C.

Now we are going to use the retouch tool again. Darken first then lighten. Use the same settings as you used on the leaf. When you are happy with your results. Deselect.
Layers->Merge visible and then tub for later use. Again I hope you enjoyed doing my tutorial. If you have any questions please Email me. I will be happy to help!
