You will need a working knowledge of PSP 7 and at the Intermediate level. You will use the Retouch tool, Selections, Effects->Drop Shadow and these colors below:

#C0790A

#C6AA7B

#0E700E

#8E7958

#FFA657

I will let you know what colors you will use for each layer or selection.

You will need PSP 7 download your trial versionHere
(I am sure you can do this in PSP 8 but I am not familiar with it and the Tutorial was written in PSP 7)

You will need to downlaod and unzip my selection file to your favorite folder.

If you are ready then please go to Step One:

::Step One:

Open a Transparent Image 400 X 400. Layers->New Raster Layer and name it pumpkin. Selections->Load From Disk pumpkin.sel.
Your foreground color should be #FFA657. Flood Fill the selected area. Keep selected Selections->Invert and apply the Following Drop Shadow settings with color #C0790A:



Now apply the same drop shadow only change the Vertical/Horizontal to 2 instead of -2. Deselect.
On the same layer Selections->Load from Disk the pumpkinshadow.sel. Change your foreground color to #C0790A. Flood Fill once in the selected area and then Deselect.

Your pumpkin will look like this:



::Step Two::

Layers->A new raster layer and name it stem. Selections->Load from disk pumpkinstump.sel.
Change your foreground color to #87615E and flood fill the selected area. Do not deselect.
Selections->Invert and apply the same drop shadow as beforeonly keep the Vertical/Horizontal at 2 and change the shadow color to #0E700E.





::Step Three::

Layers->A new raster layer and name it face. Selections->Load from Disk pumkineye1.sel.
Change your foreground color #C0790A and flood fill the selected area. Selections->Invert and apply the
same drop drop shadow only keep the Vertical/Horizontal at 2 and change the shadow color to #843900. Deselect. Below are the settings you will used:



Now on the same layer Selections->load from disk pumkininsideeye1.sel. change the foreground color to #C6AA7B and flood fill the selected area.
It will look like this:



Repeat the same steps for the right eye. Selections->load from disk pumpkineye2.sel. Flood fill with the same Color. Selections->Invert and apply the same drop shadow. On the same layer Selections->load from disk pumpkininsideeye2.sel. Change your foreground color to #C6AA7B and flood fill the selected area. Your pumpkin will look like this:



Still on the same face layer. Selections->load from disk pumpkinnose.sel. Flood Fill with foreground color #C0790A. Selections->Invert Apply same drop shadow.
Selections->Invert again and Selections->Modify->Contract by 4 and flood fill with color #C6AA7B. Deselect.
On the same face layer. Selections->load from disk pumpkinsmile.sel. Flood Fill with foreground color #C0790A. Selections->Modify->Contract by 4. Flood Fill with foreground color
#C6AA7B. Your pumpkin will look like this now.:




Okay now the leaves:

::Step Four::

Layers->A new Raster layer and name it leaves. Selections->load from disk leaf1.sel. Change your foreground color to #0E700E. Flood Fill the selected area. Keep selected.
Keep selected and apply Effects->Noise 7% Uniform. Take your retouch tool at these settings and apply the Darken RBG.:



Now with your retouch tool take and click along the edges and inside so that it looks like the image above. When it looks good to you Take and Deselect and apply a drop shadow
with these settings below:



On seperate layers Do the same steps for leaf2.sel, leaf3.sel, and leaf4.sel. Also you will want to move your fourth leaf layer down under your third leaf layer.

Your pumpkin will look like this...


**Note** If you want to use your pumpkin to decorate or want to save as a transparent gif. may want to lower the blur of the drop shadow so that it doesn't blur out and look funky.."" Layers->Merge and Voila you have a cute pumpkin to decorate your page.
