Making a Cake

I came up with this Tutorial after receiving an email
Inviting Prestigious Dames Members to submit a Tutorial for
Their one year Anniversary Celebration..I thought gotta have a cake!!!
What you will need:

PSP 7.04 (or any version really of PSP should work)
you can download a trial version here

I made my frosting tube doing a tutorial at Monica's Lessons

And any other tubes you want to use to decorate your cake.
This Tutorial is and Beginner/Intermediate Rating

1. open a new image 600 x 600 Transparent
Foreground null and background white.
On your tool bar go to your Shapes preset and click and choose
rounded rectangle, antialias checked, create as vector
In your image draw a rectangle, size doesn't matter but leave room for your image on all sides like this:

2. convert to raster layer then go to Selections/Select All/Float. Effects/3 D Effects and apply a cutout color#808080 with these settings below: Then Deselect.

3. Then on your Tool Bar click your Picture Tube Tool
and search for the snowflakefrost.tub you downloaded
use these settings below:


Make a new layer so that you can colorize your frosting trim later if you want. Now we are going to put a nice trim around the cake.

4. start at the left short side border and make a line
along the edge. Now Layer/Duplicate/Mirror and you will have
both sides frosted. It should look like this:

Add a new layer
Then do the same to the Top part of the cake until you have
have all the edges done like so. Just Layer Duplicate/Mirror after you do the top and then take the mover tool and move
it into place on the bottom part of the cake.


5. Add a new layer and apply your frosting tub again. Make
small lines in each of the corners like so:

 

6. add a new layer and make another rounded rectangle
inside your rectangle with your frosting. Start the Top left and go down to the bottom Left to hook onto the bottom line.
and follow all around the cake. It should look like this when you are done
 

8. now you are ready to add some sugary pink stuff to your cake and then Decorate it.
Take your selection tool set at rounded rectangle, feather 0, antialias checked. go to your cake and in the inner rectangle
of your cake make a rectangle make sure it is the same size as your inner rectangle. Here is what it should look like:

Then set your foreground color to #E4C4CF and your background to null. Now click on your Airbrush located on your tool bar and use the settings above:
spray your pink color inside the rectangle. Deselect.
9. Now do the same to the same to the sides with your
selection tool and airbrush.


Once you have added the pink sugar around the edges of your
cake you can decorate with flowers or whatever you like. Also if you want to change the color of your frosting then you can go to your frosting edge layers, highlight it, then Color/Colorize and play with the settings until you get the color you want.
Add Lettering and when you are satisfied with your cake>
go to layers merge visible and then tube it..

Now you have a tasty cake for those special ocassions
This is a very versatile Tutorial and you can be creative
have fun with it! I just give you the tools you don't have
to follow it to the letter.
